The Pioneer & Los Gatos High School robotics team — The Apes of Wrath — is an extra-curricular activity that inspires young people's interest in math, science, engineering and technology.

The team was formed as part of FIRST, a multinational nonprofit organization that aspires to make science, math, engineering, and technology as cool for young people as sports are today.

Each year, the students work with engineers to design and build a robot that they compete with in the FIRST robotics competitions.

In addition, The Apes of Wrath robotics team is committed to developing and supporting new FIRST robotics teams.

Team 668 also helped organize over 100 students, parents, and mentors from FIRST Robotics teams who participated in the Toys for Tots distribution last holiday season. (more)

Latest News and Updates
Logo Motion is in Motion – Season Kickoff — Team 668 met Saturday January 8th at 9 AM at Pioneer High school to watch the season kickoff of this year's competition. The challenge this year is called Logo Motion (see video). Following the FIRST presentation, we strategized on ideas to meet the challenge. We are excited for the return of build season.
This Year's Competitions —This year the team will be competing in the Sacramento Regional and the Silicon Valley Regional. The Sacramento regional will take place March 17-19, 2011 at UC Davis. The Silicon Valley Regional will be March 31 to April 2, 2011 at San Jose State.
Pioneer HS Robotics Team Broadens Curriculum and mentors Lego Robotics — This year team 668 successfully brought back AP computer science to the school. Team 668 also created a drafting and exploring computer science class, taught by Lonny Weissman. In addition to that, they took the conceptual physics classes and incorporated Robotics into it. The members of the team have been actively mentoring FLL (FIRST Lego League) teams, giving up their time to spread the FIRST message.
Community Events
Team 668 is actively involved in both the robotics community and our wider community. We have participated in Toys for Tots (more).

The team also demonstrated the robot at the SAE Auto Fest, BAE Diversity Fair, and the Tech Museum. We have hosted the FLL tournament as well as an FRC demonstration at Lockheed Martin to bring more engineering mentors to FIRST.
